Activities for 2009-2010
1. Researching IL in the Pre-College Curriculum
- Focused Research Group met early October
- Seeking 2-3 sites for winter 2010; add 2-3 in spring
- Shared rubric for IL and pre-college
- RFP available by late fall
2. Continued Mini-Grants for winter and spring 2010 (precollege encouraged but open to all subject areas)
3. Summer Workshop: Emerging Pedagogies & Technology

About the LSTA Grant
The LMDC has received LSTA funding to continue IL activities from 2008-2012. Washington State community and technical college libraries who have agreed to participate will engage in the following activities:
- Continuing the assessment work started in grant #1.
- Furthering the Rising Junior discussions with the baccalaureate institutions.
- Conducting research and designing best practices that determine the library and the librarians’ contributions to Basic Skills student achievement. (Developmental Education, ESL, and ABE).
- Developing methods and models for leading and implementing process-based pedagogies on our campuses (Inquiry-based learning, Problem-based learning, Resource-based learning, etc. )
